Laura Cabarcos – Account Director

What was your first job?
I completed a Summer internship at ELLE Magazine when I was 16. I was already attracted by the media world by then and really wanted to understand the business behind a popular magazine.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be Chief Editor of a Fashion magazine. At that time the job seemed to be all about going to fashion shows and interviewing celebrities. Wasn’t I naive?

Soundtrack of your life?
Dancing queen, Abba

Biggest pet peeve?
People suddenly stopping or changing pace in the middle of the street.

What is one thing you’re learning and why is it important?
To be patient. I think it is a quality we should all try to master, especially when you work in PR. Results don’t come in as soon as you have pitched a story and your stress level can drop down a level once you interiorize this.

Favourite phrase; English and another language?
My all time motto: When life gives you lemons…make lemonade

What is your guilty pleasure?
Weekend breakfasts. It is all about pancakes and spending the whole morning catching up on the news and social media.

What is your most used emoji?
🤣 and 💃🏼 (my own interpretation of laugh & enjoy life)

Do you have a hidden talent?
Multitasking. I even surprise myself with the amount of things I can do at the same time.

Do you have an industry idol, if so who? And why?
I admire the perseverance of some of the founding fathers of the PR industry such as Harold Burson. They shaped the PR business and made it relevant and applicable to any industry. However, being a big defender of teamwork, I admire the work of several brand teams such as the ones behind Netflix, Nike and Spotify. Their campaigns are genuine, fresh and very linked to popular culture.

What is your favourite thing about being a Bubble?
Bubble is offering me the opportunity of seeing the other side of the Entertainment industry and working with very talented people who are always looking out for each other.
