XL8 Integrates AI Sync & Translate APIs into OOONA’s Media Localization Management Platform

San Jose, CA (September 10, 2024) XL8, a leading deep-tech startup specializing in AI-powered machine translation technology, today announces the long-awaited integration of its advanced sync and translate API’s into OOONA’s media localization management and production system.

Integrating XL8’s API’s and AI machine translation into OOONA’s platform allows media customers to automate and refine their localization workflows. This new toolset will reduce the amount of manual work required to manage repetitive translation tasks and refine the quality of translation efforts.

“After a couple of years of our LSP clients asking for a more streamlined way to use our tools with OOONA, we’ve finally delivered,” said Josh Pine, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at XL8. “We’ve completed the integration, creating a seamless experience for OOONA customers to use our advanced Sync and Translate capabilities directly within the platform. This eliminates the extra steps to export and import content into the platform, so media organizations can work faster and more accurately when preparing content for audiences in different regions.”

XL8’s APIs integrate seamlessly with various software platforms, making adding synchronization and translation capabilities to an existing system and localization workflow easier. The Sync API processes a media file by using advanced techniques to “watch” and “listen” to the content. It creates initial subtitles, aligns them with the audio track, and identifies and separates different speakers in the audio track. This preparation ensures the file is ready for translation, allowing the Translate API to accurately interpret factors like formality, gender, and age relationships between speakers, which is especially important for translating into languages with nuanced cultural contexts. These APIs are tailored to manage the unique requirements of media content, offering contextually appropriate translation, supporting over 70 languages and backed by advanced AI translation engines.

“The integration of XL8’s Sync and Translate APIs provides our customers with a new resource that helps them simplify and automate the usage of media specific AI tools in the localization process,” comments Wayne Garb, OOONA co-founder and CEO. “This partnership brings together our strengths in translation management with XL8’s AI-powered machine translation technology and provides our clients with new ways to maintain consistency, improve productivity, and accelerate the localization process without leaving the OOONA workspace.”

The integration is available now to all OOONA users. Visitors to IBC will have the opportunity to meet with the XL8 team to discuss how AI-driven machine translation can assist them with their media localization needs. OOONA will demonstrate the XL8 API integration with its localization management and production platform on IBC stand 3.C69.
