Our Top Tips for Exhibitors and Visitors at InfoComm 2023
Kicking off June 14th and running until the 16th, InfoComm 2023 returns to sunny Orlando, Florida. As the largest pro AV trade show in North America, thousands of new innovative products will be unveiled for audio, unified communications and collaboration, video, control, digital signage, home automation, security, VR, and live events, making it a “must-go-to show.”
Likewise, Bubble will be there to support our clients with press appointments and media support. Trade shows are part of our DNA; we love the technology, the people, networking, and of course, the parties. If you see someone in an orange-striped shirt with a smile on their face, odds are it’s a Bubble so please stop us to say hello!
Collectively, Bubble has attended InfoComm many times, and along the way, we have come up with some useful tips for exhibitors and attendees to ensure a great show experience.
- Spread the word. With all the prep that goes into attending a trade event, one thing that often gets overlooked is the importance of communicatingwhat you will be showcasing. Utilizing social media, emails, and PR ahead of time will greatly increase the attendance rate at your booth, as visitors can plan their schedule long before stepping onto the showroom floor.
- Check your list twice. Make sure your meetings are booked in, all staff attending have pre-registered for their exhibitor passes, downloaded the event app, and all merchandise is with you or on track to arrive.
- Body language is important! You wouldn’t dine at a restaurant where you are greeted with crossed arms, minimal attention, and maximum attitude, would you? The same applies to your stand. Brief your team beforehand on how to greet visitors, make sure no phones are on the trade show floor, and most importantly, smile.
- Consistent social media is Invaluable. AVtweeps or even better, #avtweeps, is one of the most important hashtags of the show if you want to find out what is going on. The official show hashtag is #InfoComm23.
- You and your mood are what you eat. Staffing a booth is as tough as any other physical workout, so you need to stock up on energy. Eat a proper breakfast—things that are filling but not indigestible. Eat fruit and snacks occasionally but avoid sweets that spike blood sugar levels.
Our Top Tips for Visitors at InfoComm 2023:
- What’s the plan? There will be a lot to see at InfoComm, and it’s a short three-day show, so map out all your meetings in advance and plan the most efficient routes between appointments while still getting in your 10,000 steps!
- Download the InfoComm 2023 app. The app lets you browse the entire show floor with an interactive floor plan. It will help you quickly navigate to the information you want.
- It’s getting hot in here.Remember, Florida is hotter than you might expect. Wear light, airy clothing, and drink lots of water to combat the humidity and stay hydrated. Why not bring a reusable water bottle and find filling stations along the way?
- Try to stick to your schedule. You’ve gone to all this trouble to make appointments before the show, and people are expecting to see you, so stay aware of the time. It’s easy to fall behind and miss out on valuable appointments. Consider using your smartphone to set alarms and/or reminders at the beginning of each day to keep you on track.
- Don’t wear new shoes! We don’t recommend it! The firstrule of trade show attendance is that comfy shoes are a must! Second, pack some band-aids (plasters!). As there will be the inevitable blister or two!
- Get some fresh air. Convention centers lack natural light, so when it’s convenient, pop out of the con center and grab a bit of fresh (albeit humid) Florida air for a quick reprieve. Just five minutes in the sun will relax your mind and recharge your battery. Speaking of recharging…
- A portable charger is the ultimate best friend. Never miss a text, party invite, or call by bringing a portable charger.
- InfoComm Daily. Must-read; it’s a great show resource. It lists all exhibitors and their booths, the latest news and products being showcased, as well as information on speakers, panels, and classes.
- Enjoy the local cuisine. The Orlando Convention Center is surrounded by a variety of dining options. Here are some popular nearby restaurants: The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Cafe Tu Tu Tango, and Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar.
- R&R at the Mouse’s House. Disneyworld is a mere 15 miles from the Orlando Convention Center!
