Why did MPTS need a global media strategy ahead of its industry event?
MPTS is the UK’s premier event for the media, production, and broadcast industries, which welcomes more than 13,000 attendees every year. With Bubble being its official PR and media partner for the past five years, we set out to make this one the best yet – particularly as this was the penultimate event before its tenth anniversary in 2026.
What does an integrated PR strategy look like for media and production trade shows?
To deliver maximum impact, Bubble’s media technology PR team devised a six-month PR and press strategy, delivering several PR activations. These included:
- Expert content creation to create a buzz around the 2025 show – including drafting compelling press releases and feature articles.
- Leading on contra deal relations, including making partner recommendations, influencer management on behalf of MPTS, and the coordination of artwork for media wall posters and magazine bins.
- We led on press engagement ahead of the MPTS 2025 show by vetting the press attendee list regularly, sending targeted invites and reminders, and assisting with media queries where needed.
- Ongoing press office management by fielding inbound media queries and pitching MPTS articles and Q&As to target publications.
- We provided expert stakeholder management through offering support and PR counsel to exhibitors, including distributing and managing exhibitor press releases to the MPTS-registered press, liaising with exhibitors for exhibitor news, gathering show testimonials, and attending and presenting at the MPTS Exhibitor Open Morning.
- Ongoing event support at every stage, including onsite management of the MPTS Press Lounge across both show days.
- Extensive reporting and evaluation via in-depth monitoring of media coverage, and producing a post-event wrap-up report to reflect on learnings and key achievements.
