[London 4 December 2018] The Digital Production Partnership (DPP), the media industry’s international business network, today published to its Membership a report summarising its recent Technology Leaders’ Briefing event. The Briefing featured senior technology executives from 17 major technology customers – broadcasters, platforms and technology giants. Each leader shared their current three key priorities.
The event was made possible by the support of DPP Member companies, Google Cloud, Dropbox, Sony, Brightcove and CenturyLink, as well as 12 other Member companies who supported the DPP’s bespoke meeting service, the DPP Club Lounge.
“Our Technology Leaders’ Briefing is a unique event,” says DPP Managing Director and author of the report, Mark Harrison. “The leaders provide focused, actionable business intelligence for the supplier community. Their priorities also build to provide an extraordinarily precise set of technology trends that both the suppliers and the customers themselves find invaluable.”
The report summarises the three points raised by each of the technology leaders and explores the emerging trends.
Featured in the report are: Al Jazeera, BBC, BT Sport, CBC/Radio Canada, Channel 4, DAZN, Eurosport, FOX, Google Cloud, ITV, Microsoft, PBS, Sky, Turner, UKTV, Viacom and VICE Media.
“The Briefing is what the DPP is all about,” Harrison adds. “It brings together customers and suppliers to share problems and identify business opportunities. It will be an annual event, and 2019 already promises to be even bigger and better.”
The Technology Leaders’ Briefing 2018report is available for DPP Members to download now. It is the first of a number of DPP reports to be released in the next two months, including Communicating Security, which explores human factors in successful security; CES 2019; the DPP 2019 Predictions; and AI for Real – an assessment of where AI is already impacting professional media.
